About us · House, school & foundation

A place where
every voice
counts.

House of Deep Democracy is a school and foundation. Since 2015 we have been passing on the Lewis method to professionals, teams and organisations across the Netherlands.

Our story

Since 2015

Better conversations lead to better decisions.

House of Deep Democracy was founded on the belief that better conversations lead to better decisions. We offer training in the Lewis Method of Deep Democracy — a proven approach that helps organisations hear and use every voice.

Our trainings are delivered by internationally accredited trainers with years of experience guiding teams and organisations.

The method

Developed by Myrna Lewis, tested in thousands of groups.

The Lewis Method of Deep Democracy was developed by Myrna Lewis in South Africa. A practical method that helps groups surface underlying tensions, unspoken opinions and minority viewpoints.

By hearing every voice — including the quiet and dissenting — decision quality increases and later sabotage decreases.

Housemates

The people behind the house.

A small circle of trainers, facilitators and kindred spirits who keep each other sharp. Together we pass on the method — and keep practising it ourselves.
